The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has shorlisted two Nigerian Players, Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface for the CAF Player of the Year award.

The award shortlist also include Moroccan player Brahim Diaz. These trio athletes are noted to have made significant contributions during the 2023/2024 season.

Atalanta’s Lookman had a great season, playing a key role in winning the UEFA Europa League and winning the club’s Player of the Year title. Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s Boniface was instrumental in winning the Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the German Supercup, and made significant contributions to the Nigerian national team and the Super Eagles.

Similarly, Real Madrid playmaker Brahim Diaz made a significant impact for both club and country, helping Real win multiple titles, including La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup. These players have been recognized for their outstanding performances as leading contenders for Africa’s most prestigious soccer award.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Marrakech.
