United States President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all hostages taken during the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, warning that failure to comply will result in severe consequences.

In a post on Truth Social late Wednesday, Trump stated that he is providing Israel with all necessary resources to “complete the mission,” cautioning that “no member of Hamas will be safe if you do not heed my words.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to eradicate the Palestinian militant organization.

Trump’s statement follows the White House’s confirmation of direct negotiations with Hamas regarding the hostages, a significant shift from the previous US policy of avoiding direct contact with groups designated as terrorist organizations.

“Release all hostages immediately and return the bodies of those you have killed, or it will be the end for you,” the President declared.

“This is your final warning!”

This is not the first instance of Trump issuing threats against Hamas. Last December, he warned of dire repercussions if hostages were not released by the time he assumed office.

The President also reiterated his position on the “reconstruction” of Gaza, which seemed to serve as a veiled warning to its inhabitants.

“For the leadership, now is the time to vacate Gaza while you still have the opportunity,” he advised.

“To the people of Gaza: A promising future lies ahead, but not if you continue to hold hostages. If you do, you are doomed! Make a wise choice.”

Israel reports that 59 hostages remain in Gaza, with approximately 24 believed to be alive, including US citizens.

The ceasefire established in January, which facilitated a hostage exchange between both parties, is currently in jeopardy after Hamas stated it would only release the remaining captives if Israel ceases its military actions.
