Tinubu Sends Akpabio, 5 Catholic Archbishops To Attend Pope Francis Funeral

Senate President Godswill Akpabio is leading a distinguished Nigerian delegation to the funeral of Pope Francis, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, in Vatican City on Saturday.
This information was revealed in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, on Friday.
President Tinubu has appointed a five-member delegation that includes the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu; the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji; the Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese, Archbishop Matthew Hassan Kukah; and the Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, Archbishop Ignatius Ayua Kaigama.
The statement further noted that the delegation will officially present a letter expressing President Tinubu’s condolences and sympathy regarding the passing of Pope Francis to the Acting Head of the Vatican.
