Tinubu Has Ordered Reintroduction Of History In Schools – Alausa
Dr. Tunji Alausa, who is the Minister of Education said that President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reintroduction of Nigerian History as a subject in basic education in Nigeria.
Dr Alausa who disclosed this while speaking during Channels Television’s End-of-Year Special Review Show, Alausa aid;
“President Tinubu has mandated the return of Nigerian History as a subject in basic education.”
This formal reintroduction of history as a subject in the Nigeria’s basic education curriculum is coming after it was abolished 13 years ago.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua-led government in 2009 had removed history from Nigeria’s basic education curriculum supposedly because students were not taking it with the claim that there were few jobs for history graduates, as well as that there was dearth of history teachers.
