Rivers Civil Servants To Earn N85k As New Minimum Wage – Gov Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has revealed the new minimum wage for civil servants in Rivers State as N85,000.
The Governor stated this on Friday after a meeting with Labour Leaders in Port Harcourt.
He added that the implementation of new minimum wage will commence in November, 2024.
Earlier on Friday, Gov Fubara had an audience with tradional rulers in the State.
In a post on his official social media page, Gov Fubara wrote:
“Grateful for the visit from the esteemed Rivers State Council Of Traditional Rulers, led by His Majesty King Chike Anderson Worlu Wodo.
The royal support of the Council reassures us that we stand together with our people.
Assuredly, we will continue to uphold and respect the traditional institution. I thank the Rulers Council for the visit.
Thereafter, we had a fruitful meeting with Labour Leaders in which we agreed on the 85,000 naira minimum wage, effective November. Rivers state workers will be better off for it.”
