Prudent Commissioner Refunds ₦100 Million Surplus Funds

In an exemplary show of leadership, the Kano State Commissioner for Local Governments, Alhaji Tajuddin Usman, has refunded ₦100 million to the state government’s account.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the funds was savings from a contract awarded for sewing school uniforms for 789,000 primary school pupils across the 44 local government areas in the state.

Usman, who is also the head of the distribution committee, disclosed this during the official launch of the uniform distribution at the Kano State Government House on Monday. He disclosed that the surplus funds were returned after the project was successfully completed.

He added that the initiative was aimed at providing uniforms for public primary school pupils, and a part of the state government’s efforts to improve access to quality education.
