Police Teargas Protesters In Abuja Market As Youths Shun #October1protest In Ogun

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have dispersed #FearlessInOctober protesters who gathered at the Utako Market in Abuja, the federal capital territory.

Didactic Information Hut gathered that the protesters had assembled at the market as early as 7 am on Tuesday, to protest the hardship faced by Nigerians occasioned by government policies and programs.

But Police officers quickly arrived and dispersed the protesters at about 8:54 am.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the October 1 protest tagged #FearlessInOctober is a continuation of the #EndBadGovernance protests held between August 1 and 10 in response to the economic hardship experienced by many Nigerians.

Similarly, Youths in Ogun State have shunned the #FearlessOctober1 protest held across the nation on Tuesday.

It was observed that regular activities and movement of people occurred without disruption at place like Mowe, Interchange, Okemosan, Panseke and Kuto areas of the state.

Also, security operatives including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps and men of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, were seen at strategic positions across this area to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

Didactic Information Hut recalls that a High Court sitting in Abeokuta had restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu, the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School in the Ota part of the state.

Also the popular MKO Abiola Stadium and the Skating Ground in Abeokuta on Tuesday showed no signs of the protesters.
