Police Arrest Popular Musician, Speed Darlington
Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have once again arrested a Nigerian Musician, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Speed Darlington’s arrest was made public by His Counsel and Human rights Lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, in a post on his official X page on Wednesday.
Adeyanju disclosed that his client was arrested while performing at a show in Owerri, days after returning to the country earlier in the week.
He wrote, “Our client, Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
As of the time this report was filed, it is still unknown why the singer was arrested.
According to Didactic Information Hut, Darlington was earlier arrested by the Nigerian Police for allegedly cyberstalking Burna Boy, also known as Damini Ogulu, a fellow musician.
