PDP And APC Win All Seats In Enugu And Imo LGA Elections
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu and Imo States have won all seats in the local government elections which held in both States over the weekend.
Prof. Christian Ngwu, Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) declared PDP Candidates of all 17 Chairmanship and 260 Councillorship Seats. He further praised the commission for conducting the election which he described as free and fair.
Similarly in Imo State, the Chairman of ISIEC, Charles Ejiogu, said, “The election followed the laid down guidelines and procedures.
“We gave room for robust participation. We had meetings with critical stakeholders and all security agencies.
“We observed primaries of political parties. Election took place across the 305 wards and 27 LGs. Election took place at 4758 polling units.
“Political parties inspected sensitive materials and I can say that the election was peaceful, fair, transparent and credible.”
The chairman added, “The APC won all the chairmanship and councillorship seats”.
Meanwhile, Opposition Parties in Imo and Enugu States rejected the outcomes of the elections.
