Nollywood Mourns Again As Film Director, Dimeji Ajibola Dies
The movie industry in Nigeria popularly called Nollywood has again been thrown into mourning following the death of Dimeji Ajibola, the producer of the popular series Shanty Town.
Dimeje Ajibola’s death was confirmed by His Colleague, Samuel Olatunji, on his instagram page on Sunday.
Olatunji who was deeply saddened by Ajibola’s death described the deceased as a client and friend.
“Dimeji Ajibola was my client and friend. So sad to hear this news. Rest in peace to a great guy! Sad Sunday as the director of Shanty Town passed away,” he wrote.
He was known for his creativity and excellent vision in the entertainment industry, characterised by traditional and digital art forms in outstanding ways.
Before his sudden death, Ajibola has made contributions to film-making, animation, VFX, virtual worlds, and interactive media.
He had a versatile educational background, as an alumnus of the New York Film Academy in Universal Studios where He studied filmmaking and cinematography; advanced character animation at Animation Mentor in San Francisco, and visual effects at VFXLearning.
Ajibola was the CEO and Technical Director of Flipsyde Studios Ltd., where He built a reputation for excellence and innovation. His works had earned him several Awards.
Although Dimeji Ajibola was said to be sick briefly, the details surrounding his sickness and death is not public yet.
