NNPP Takes Firm Stand: Kano State PRO Ousted for Alleged Anti-Party Activities
The New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has dismissed former Kano State Spokesman, Musa Nuhu Yankaba, for alleged anti-party activities. According to a press statement issued by party officials in Kawaji constituency of Nasarawa Local Government Area on Thursday, January 23, 2024, Yankaba’s removal was due to allegations that he had betrayed the party.
The decision to dismiss Yankaba came shortly after he made controversial remarks in an interview in which he claimed that the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf were no longer members of the NPP.
Yankaba further claimed that the party, initially identified by its fruit logo, was weakened by the leadership’s decision to adopt a new logo featuring a book.
He also claimed that the Kano state government was elected under the original NNPP and called on party leaders to prioritize unity to strengthen the party.
According to the statement, Yankaba was summoned Wednesday to defend himself against allegations of betrayal, but did not appear before the party leadership. The development underscores the NNPP’s commitment to discipline and loyalty within the party in order to maintain the integrity of the organization.
