NNPC Reduces Petrol Price To N880/Litre in Abuja, N860/litre In Lagos

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has announced a decrease in the retail price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, at its filling stations in Abuja, now set at N880 per litre. This marks a reduction from the previous price of N965 per litre.
According to Didactic Information Hut, the price of petrol at the NNPC retail outlet located in Federal Housing, Kubwa, has decreased by N85 per litre. A pump attendant at the Kubwa station confirmed to TheCable that this price adjustment took effect on Monday afternoon.
Additionally, at the NNPC retail branch situated at Irawo, near Ransco bus stop on Ikorodu road, the price has been established at N860 per litre. Similarly, the petrol price at the retail outlet along Idimu Road has also been reduced to N860.
On February 13, NNPC had previously lowered the pump price in Lagos from N960 per litre to N945 per litre. This latest price reduction occurs shortly after Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a cut in its ex-depot price for petrol to N825, marking the second reduction in February. Earlier in the month, Dangote refinery had decreased the petrol price from N950 per litre to N890.
The new pricing indicates a substantial reduction of N125 from the January ex-depot price of N950. This price adjustment is also evident at MRS filling stations, which are now selling petrol at N860 per litre, and Heyden stations, which have set their price at N865 per litre in Lagos.
