Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff Reportedly Dies of Cancer
Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff has reportedly died of cancer.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that there were recent reports on the health status of Lagbaja that he was hospitalized from an undisclosed illness abroad.
However, the Nigeria Army denied the report insisting that he is merely on leave and there is no vacancy in the Army Structure.
However, unconfirmed reports reaching Didactic Information Hut indicate that Lagbaja has died in an undisclosed hospital overseas from a stage three Cancer.
A senior Government official who also hinted on Lagbaja’s death said he was not authorized to confirm the sad incident.
The death of the Chief of Army staff has been kept secret because of intense lobbying by some Army Generals who are struggling to replace Him.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that Lagbaja who was born on February 28, 1968, in Ilobu, Osun State, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023, as the 27th Chief of Army Staff.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Army is yet to confirm or debunk this.
