Four Nigerian Students in the United Kingdom have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a violent knife fight in Leicester.

According to reports, the incident happened on New Park Street on November 4, 2021, and left one victim with multiple stab wounds.
By using CCTV footage, phone tracking, and public assistance, the Leicester City Police authorities were able to identify the offenders.
The six-week trial concluded in October, and the sentences were handed down on November 14.

Last Thursday, a thorough result was posted on the Leicester Police website.
The students, who were all in their early 20s, were sentenced to two to seven years in prison: Joshua Davies-Ero, Habib Lawal, Ridwanulahi Raheem, and Destiny Ojo.
For violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent, Destiny Ojo received a seven-year sentence.

Raheem was sentenced to three years for violent disorder and possession of a bladed article, while Lawal was given five years for similar offenses.
For violent disorder, Davies-Ero received a two-year sentence.
The fifth defendant, Justin Asamoah, 22, will be sentenced on November 22 after entering a guilty plea to possessing a bladed article.
According to reports, a Leicester Police spokesperson praised the public for their cooperation throughout the investigation and emphasized the necessity of addressing violent behavior in order to maintain community safety.
Speaking about the case, Detective Constable Sean Downey stated,

“This incident underscores the grave dangers of violent disorder. It is fortunate that the injuries sustained were not more severe or fatal. This could have been a very different investigation.” He added, “We thank everyone who supported the investigation. As a force, our priority is public safety. Violent behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities, and we will continue to take decisive action against offenders.”
