Malpractice Rate Drops As NECO Releases 2024 SSCE Results
The National Examination Council (NECO) has released its 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that the 2024 SSCE was conducted from June 19 to July 26 with marking taking place from August 19 to September 8.
Speaking at a news conference in Niger state on Thursday, NECO said candidates can proceed to its website to access their results.
Breaking down the exam statistics, NECO said the number of candidates who registered for its 2024 SSCE is 1,376,423, representing 706,950 males and 669,473 females.
The number of candidates that sat the exam is 1,367,736, representing 702,112 males and 665,624 females. A total of 828,284 candidates had five credits and above, including English and Mathematics. This represents 60.55 percent.
The number of candidates with five credits and above, irrespective of English and Mathematics is 1,147,597, representing 83.90 percent.
NECO also said the number of candidates involved in malpractice in 2024 is 8,437 as against 12,030 in 2023, amounting to a reduction of 30.1 percent.
It added that 40 schools were found to have been involved in mass cheating across 17 states.
The council further said the schools will be invited for discussion, after which appropriate sanctions will be applied.
