Kudirat Kekere-Ekun Gets Confirmed As New Chief Justice Of Nigeria

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere Ekun as Substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Didactic Information Hut reports that President Bola Tinubu had sent the name of Justice Kereke-Ekun to the Senate following her ealier nomination by the National Judicial Commission, NJC.

She was accompanied by other Supreme Court and Court of Appeal Justices to the Senate Chamber by 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

Ealier in an interview with Senators, Justice Kekere-Ekun said she would leverage on technology to ensure quick dispensation of justice in the country.


She added that there would be no hiding place for corrupt individuals and criminal, while pledging to ensure that the judiciary remains independent of external influence.

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun had been in acting capacity since August when Justice Olukayode Ariwoola retired.
