Vice President Kashim Shettima left Abuja for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to attend the inauguration and naming ceremony of a $315 million oil production and storage facility on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President for Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, made the disclosure in a statement issued Friday in Abuja. Nkwocha said the facility, a Nigerian-owned oil and gas company acquired by Oriental Energy, is scheduled to be commissioned on December 14.

He explained that the facility is scheduled to be commissioned on December 14. After the Dubai event, the vice president said he will head to Saudi Arabia, where he will perform less hajj (umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19.

The vice president also said he will have a bilateral meeting with the president of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah on December 20. According to the vice president, they will discuss co-financing arrangements for the Special Agricultural and Processing Zone (SAPZ Phase II) and enhanced coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria. This, he said, is aimed at enhancing agriculture and economic development in Nigeria. The Vice President is scheduled to return to Nigeria on or before December 21.
