According to court documents filed on Sunday, musician and producer Jay-Z was charged with raping a 13-year-old with hip-hop artist Sean Combs in 2000. Jay-Z has refuted the allegations.

The girl was raped by Combs and Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) at an after-party after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000, according to an updated complaint in a civil case against Combs.

“Another celebrity stood by and watched as Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the minor. Many others were present at the after party, but did nothing to stop the assault,” the complaint reads.

“Carter has been with Combs during many such instances described herein. Both perpetrators must face justice.”

According to the updated lawsuit, Jay-Z was initially named as “Celebrity A” in the complaint, and Carter was accused of bringing a “frivolous” countersuit.

The lawsuit does not name the plaintiff.
The lawyer who brought the case was retaliated against by Jay-Z, who called him a “deplorable human.”

“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are,” said a statement published on X by Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

Originally a rapper, Carter is now married to Beyonce, a multibillionaire record producer and businessman.

The attorney pursuing the case against Jay-Z, Buzbee, told AFP that “the pleading speaks for itself.” There will be legal proceedings regarding this extremely serious issue.
Rapper Combs, better known by his stage name “Diddy,” has been charged with both racketeering and sex trafficking separately.

Combs, 55, is accused by federal prosecutors of sexually abusing women and using violence and threats to force them into drug-fueled sex parties.

His criminal trial is currently scheduled to start on May 5, 2025, and he has entered a not guilty plea to all of the charges.

Attorney Buzbee of Texas, who stated in October that over 100 alleged victims were preparing legal action against Combs, has also promised Combs a huge number of lawsuits.
