I’m Not Afraid Of EFCC, I Have Nothing To Hide – Obaseki
With barely four days to the end of his administration, Gov Godwin Obaseki has stated that He is not afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, because He has nothing to hide.
Gov Obaseki stated this while speaking at the EdoBEST National Results-Sharing Session in Abuja.
He said He would willingly surrender himself to the EFCC if he is invited to give account of his financial management of the state.
“I’m not afraid of the EFCC. Why should I be? What is important is focus. I came into office and ignored the noise, concentrating on what I felt was important, and today you can see the results. If the EFCC calls on me, I will hand myself over; I have nothing to hide,” he said.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that Gov Obaseki had recently raised the alarm and accused the EFCC of plotting to cripple governance in the State. The accusation followed the arrest of the Accountant-General of the State alongside other state officials for alleged acts of corruption.
