A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has issued a warning regarding the significant repercussions that may arise if Nigeria persists in overlooking the South-East region.

Igbokwe made this statement via his Facebook account on Saturday.

His remarks come in the wake of ongoing debates surrounding the appointments made under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

It is worth noting that Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has criticized Tinubu’s administration for what he perceives as biased appointments that could have negative repercussions.

In response, the presidency has asserted that appointments under Tinubu’s leadership are determined by merit.

Igbokwe remarked, “If Nigeria continues to disregard the South-East as if it is inconsequential, the consequences will be severe. Although the civil war has concluded, its effects remain. Injustice anywhere poses a threat to justice everywhere. The neglect of the South-East is detrimental.”
