A bar man has been stabbed to death by a sex worker over N200 change after he bought a gin in Adamawa State.

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested this sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death in a fit of rage over a liquor bill. The Mubi South LGA-based sex worker killed the barman after a disagreement between the two over the balance of N200 the barman was supposed to collect from her.

Riyanatu Musa, who confessed the crime to the police, said she collected one dry gin known as “Big Ben” and other drinks from Johana Musa and promised to pay him the next day, leaving a balance of N1,500, leaving N200.

She explained that when the victim demanded the money, a fight broke out between her and the victim, during which she stabbed him in the chest with a knife.

She denied speculation that she was drunk and stabbed Johana, stressing that she had not been drinking on that fateful day.

She expressed regret for her actions, but SP Suleiman Ngroje, the state police public relations officer, said that Police Commissioner Morris Dankombo ordered further investigation into the matter and warned the public not to abuse the law.
