Hon Alex Ikwechegh Arraigned For Assaulting A Bolt Driver
The Abia federal lawmaker who assaulted an Abuja Bolt driver, Alex Ikwechegh, was today arraigned before the Kuje Magistrate Court for assaulting a Bolt Driver.
Activist cum Lawyer Deji Adeyanju had earlier confirmed this in a post.
Mr Adeyanju who is the Lawyer to the Victim confined that the IGP’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is in charge of the investigation and prosecution.
Didactic Information Hut reports that Hon Ikwechegh was charged for abuse of office, assault and threat to life.
Justice Abubakar Umar Sai’id presided over the matter.
Hon. Ikwechegh pleaded not guilty to the charges as His counsel made an oral application for bail, which was granted.
The bail conditions included: payment of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum and the Sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and provide utility bills as proof of residence.
Meanwhile the case was adjourned to November 8.
