Gov Umo Eno Dissolves Executive Council in Akwa Ibom
All members of the state executive council in Akwa Ibom has been sacked by Gov Umo Eno.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday, by Enobong Uwah, secretary to the state government (SSG), who said the cabinet dissolution is with immediate effect.
According to the statement, the governor directed the former commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
“All honourable commissioners and special advisers are hereby advised to hand over to their permanent secretaries or the most senior director where there is no permanent secretary,” the statement reads.
“The governor expresses his sincere appreciation to the outgoing executive council members for their dedicated service to the state.
“He wishes them well in their future endeavours and thanks them for their contributions to the development of the state.”
It’s uncertain when the governor will reconstitute a fresh state executive council.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that most sacked cabinet members were from former Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration.
