According to Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, he will help Benue State University open satellite campuses in the senatorial districts of Benue North-East and South.

He claimed that this would address the rising demand for higher education at the local level and bring education closer to the people.
Tersoo Kula, the governor’s chief press secretary, made this announcement on Saturday.

Gov. Alia said, “This strategic expansion will enhance access to education and strengthen the university’s role in developing the human capital base across the state.”

Additionally, he announced that 500 computers would be donated to the university’s computer-based testing center. Additionally, he gave all graduates with first-class degrees a 100% master’s degree scholarship.

He urged them to uphold the principles of honesty and diligence in order to be good representatives of the organization and Benue State, contending that success involves both social good and personal growth.

During the combined convocation ceremony on Saturday at the university, the governor made the announcements.

He said he looked forward to the day when the university would set records and establish itself on the world map of excellence and that his administration had submitted an executive bill to the Benue State House of Assembly to rename the institution Reverend Father Moses Adasu University in honor of the institution’s founder.

Governor Alia praised Benue State University’s management for successfully implementing CEFTER and pledged to maintain the university’s collaboration with the World Bank in addressing post-harvest losses by revitalizing the Wannune Tomato Company and Taraku Mills to boost the local economy and provide more employment opportunities for young people.

He encouraged young people, particularly recent graduates, to start farming in order to benefit from his administration’s many agricultural initiatives. He emphasized that the government would give them money and all farm inputs at no cost so they could have a respectable source of income rather than constantly searching for white-collar jobs, which he said are currently hard to come by.

Governor Alia urged those who want to continue their education to stay dedicated to learning in the hopes of solving societal issues and serving as role models for their communities by utilizing education as a vehicle for constructive change.
