Former President Buhari Visits Borno Over Flood Disaster
Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday visited Borno State.
Buhari who earlier on Tuesday landed in Maiduguri, the State capital, was received at the Airport by Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume and other political and government leaders in the state.
According to His Media Aide, Malam Garba Shehu, the former president is in Borno State to personally commisserate with the Shehu of Borno, the government, and the people of the state following the tragic flood incident. This is because He was away on vacation when the state suffered the devastating floods.
During the visit, Mr Buhari also visited His Royal Majesty, the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that on 10th September 2024, Borno State suffered from a great flood disaster when over 70% of the residents in Maiduguri were displaced and at least 150 people died.
