Former PDP Chairman in Abia State, Emma Nwaka Defects to APC
Senator Emma Nwaka, who is a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, has defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comes as the APC continues to harvest members from the disaffection within Abia PDP.
Nwaka’s defection comes six months after he had announced his resignation from PDP citing “personal reasons”.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that Senator Nwaka, who was a governorship aspirant of PDP in the 2023 general election, was presented with an APC party card by the APC Chairman for Oguduasa Ward 5, Chief Sampson Achi Ndukwe in the presence of the APC Chairman for Isuikwuato Local Government, Chief Udochi Okorie and other party officials.
A political aide of the Senator who confirmed the defection dismissed a claim that the photograph was AI generated. He added that Senatsor Nwaka would eventually “bare his mind to the public on this momentous event in the fullness of time.”
After the defeat of the PDP in Abia State in the 2023 elections, many of its members have dumped the party including the immediate past Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji.
