Former Delta Lawmaker, Nicholas Ossai Welcomed Into The APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially welcomed Nicholas Ossai, a former member of the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, following his defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ossai, who has now joined the APC, cited his desire to foster significant development for his constituents as the reason for his departure, asserting that the ruling party provides the most suitable platform to realize this vision.
Previously, he served as a member of the Delta State House of Assembly, representing the Ndokwa West State Constituency, before transitioning to the House of Representatives, where he remained until the conclusion of the 2023 legislative session.
In a statement to journalists in Abuja, Ossai commended the leadership of the party and expressed admiration for President Bola Tinubu, whom he referred to as a role model.
The politician from Delta expressed confidence that his entry into the ruling party would signal the end of the PDP’s dominance in his state.
He remarked, “I have been affiliated with the PDP for a considerable time. However, the umbrella has become ineffective. We have always viewed the President as a role model, and he continues to be one for me. Today, I have no choice but to join the APC to support him and bolster his administration.
“I am here with my numerous supporters. I have visited my ward, received my membership card, and participated in an APC senatorial meeting. I am here today to announce my commitment to the party and seek your support.
“I stand before you as one of your dedicated representatives from Delta, here to affirm my adherence to the rules, laws, and constitution of the APC. I will return to Delta State to advocate for the Asiwaju Renewed Hope Agenda, which is commendable.”
In welcoming Ossai to the party, the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, remarked that the defection of such an experienced leader serves as a clear indication that the opposition party can no longer be entrusted with power.
