Tuesday, 1st of October 2024 has been declared as a public holiday by the Federal Government to commemorate the nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

This was made public in a statement by Dr Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior on behalf of the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Tunji-Ojo who congratulating Nigerians at home and abroad on this occasion, also praised the patient and hardworking Nigerian men and women, stating that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

Aligning himself with the theme for the anniversary, the Minister reiterated the need for Nigerians to reflect on the “labour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead, realizing that a Nigeria of our dream can only be built when we unite.”

Tunji-Ojo urged the citizen to continue to be steadfast in nation-building and wished them and wished them a Happy Independence Day anniversary.
