Farmer Beats 2 Persons To Death In Ondo, Get Arrested

A man named Adegoke was arrested by the Ondo State Police Command on Sunday for allegedly killing two men that were discovered in his farm in Ore, the state’s Odigbo Local Government Area headquarters, last week.
It was reported that Adegoke accused the deceased of stealing produce from his farm along with a few other members of the nearby community. It was also reported that his motorcycle, which was parked on the farm, was taken by the alleged robbers.
Adegoke reportedly met some people again on the farm and got into a fight with the intruders, killing two and injuring others, according to a source who spoke to PUNCH Metro on Sunday under anonymity.

The source said, “Some suspected thieves had been stealing Adegoke’s farm produce. Before now, his cocoa, kolanuts, and plantains had been missing from his farm often. The thieves had also stolen his motorcycle on the same farm.

“But he caught some people on the farm again and beat them to a stupor, and in the process, two died and others were injured.”

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said an investigation into the matter had commenced

“Investigation into the incident is ongoing,” the PPRO stated.
