The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has allocated a total of ₦1.681 trillion, representing the Federation Account Revenue for April 2025, to the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils. This allocation was announced during the FAAC meeting held in Abuja in May 2025, as stated by FAAC spokesperson Bawa Mokwa on Friday.

The total distributable revenue of ₦1.681 trillion includes ₦962.882 billion in distributable statutory revenue, ₦598.077 billion in distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, ₦38.862 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and ₦81.407 billion from Exchange Difference. A communiqué from FAAC revealed that the total gross revenue for April 2025 was ₦2.848.721 trillion, with total deductions for collection costs amounting to ₦101.051 billion and total transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings reaching ₦1,066.442 billion.

The communiqué further indicated that gross statutory revenue for April 2025 was ₦2,084.568 trillion, which exceeded the ₦1,718.973 trillion received in March 2025 by ₦365.595 billion. Additionally, gross VAT revenue for April 2025 was ₦642.265 billion, surpassing the ₦637.618 billion recorded in March 2025 by ₦4.647 billion. According to the communiqué, from the total distributable revenue of ₦1.681.228 trillion, the Federal Government received ₦565.307 billion, while State Governments received ₦556.741 billion. Local Government Councils were allocated ₦406.627 billion, and ₦152.553 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was distributed to the benefiting States as derivation revenue. Of the ₦962.882 billion in distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received ₦431.307 billion, and State Governments received ₦218.765 billion.

The Local Government Councils were allocated ₦168.659 billion, with ₦144.151 billion (13% of mineral revenue) distributed to the benefiting States as derivation revenue. From the total distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of ₦598.077 billion, the Federal Government received ₦89.712 billion, State Governments received ₦299.039 billion, and Local Government Councils received ₦209.327 billion.

Additionally, the Federal Government obtained ₦5.829 billion from the ₦38.862 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), while State Governments received ₦19.431 billion and Local Government Councils received ₦13.602 billion. Regarding the ₦81.407 billion Exchange Difference, the Federal Government received ₦38.459 billion, State Governments received ₦19.507 billion, and Local Government Councils received ₦15.039 billion. Furthermore, an amount of ₦8.402 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was allocated to the benefiting States as derivation revenue. In April 2025, there was a notable increase in Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalty, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise Duty, Import Duty, and CET Levies, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) saw a significant decrease.
