BREAKING: Election Tribunal Relocates From Edo To Abuja
The Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has relocated from Benin City, the State Capital to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This was announced via a notice dated January 24, 2025, and signed by the Tribunal Secretary, Mu’azu Bagudu, disclosing that parties to the case have been informed of the relocation.
“I am directed to notify all parties that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has been relocated to Abuja at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Airport Road, Abuja, effective from Monday, 27th January, 2025,” the notice read in part.
Although no reason was given for the relocation, Didactcic Information Hut recalls that the Tribunal had witnessed many cases of disturbances from political thugs loyal to the parties involved in the case.
