The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun, has summoned judges involved in conflicting rulings in a political case in River State.

A panel of the National Judicial Council will investigate the judges, as ordered by the CJN to submit its report this week.

The panel will be made up of a former Appeal Court Judge and two court presidents.

The CJN also summoned the chief judge of the Federal High Court for questioning on Tuesday.

The summon comes after a formal complaint was filed with the council.

The chief judge of the River State High Court will also appear before the NJC panel next week for the same purpose.

Chief Justice Kekere Ekun vowed that corruption in the judiciary will not be tolerated when she attended her confirmation hearing as substantive justice in the Senate on September 25.

She pledged to do her best, uphold the integrity of the judiciary, the rule of law, and uphold the Nigerian Constitution.
