CAFWCL: FC Masar Defeats Edo Queens On Penalties
In Friday’s 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League third-place play-off, Edo Queens lost to fellow rookie FC Masar via penalty shootout.
FC Masar won 4-3 on penalties after the game ended in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes.
Their first encounter in the group stage ended in a scoreless draw.
The Edo Queens have now lost back-to-back games, falling 3-1 to TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. in the semifinals.
After drawing with FC Masar and defeating Ethiopia’s CBE 3-0 in their opening Group B match, Edo Queens pulled off a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
In the meantime, AS FAR will host TP Mazembe in the final.
