BREAKING: Lawmakers Impeach Lagos Assembly Speaker Obasa, Elects 1st Female Speaker

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa have been impeached by Lawmakers over multiple allegations of fraud.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the Clerk of the House, Mr Olalekan Onafeko, was also suspended indefinitely, while the Chief Whip, Mr Mojeed Fatai, was elected the new Deputy Speaker.

Hon. Obasa was impeached during a plenary session on Monday.

Didactic Information gathered that the Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, has been sworn in as the new Speaker.

Hon. Meranda therefore becomes the first female Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
