BREAKING: APP Defeats 16 Other Parties To Win 22 Chairmanship Seats In Rivers LG poll
The Action Peoples Party, APP, has defeated 16 other political parties to win 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions in the recently concluded local government elections in Rivers State.
Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, who is the Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, announced the results on Saturday in Port Harcourt.
Enebeli added that the announcement for Etche Local Government Area would be announced later as collation of results is still ongoing.
He further said the results the 319 councillorship seats, will be declared alongside that or Etche LGA at a later time.
This is the first time, an opposition party will be winning all elective seats in Nigeria.
