The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Otoabasi Udo, alleged that despite their contributions to the party, they are being ignored and marginalized by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The party said this situation has adversely affected their performance in party affairs.

According to Udo, more than 700 appointments have been given by the party leadership, but he said he has not been able to take advantage of them, despite his contributions to the party before and after the 2023 general elections.

He said, “So far, over 700 appointments have been made, but the State Publicity Secretary is from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Abak, the very place we gave Akpabio and the APC 19,627 votes. ‘If I should not be appointed based on the above votes I contributed, then what about the countless articles and press releases I have done for the party? Who got all the appointments?” Is it a conspiracy? Yes, a conspiracy, demanding to know why the party’s Publicity Secretary is silent on the party’s pressing issues, Udo, who ventured his frustration in a social media post, said, “I sold my property for the party so I can go wherever I want, and before the 2023 elections, the APC is going to be able to get the party members torn apart by a factional crisis in which many pledged allegiance to Akpabio or other leaders.

The crisis began during the party primaries, during which two chairmen allegedly emerged. Since then, efforts to reconcile the factions have yet to yield positive results, despite the party’s launch of a reconciliation committee. No response has been received from the Senate President’s entourage.
