16 Years Old Girl Who Pois^ned Her Ex-boyfriend, Four Friends In Our Custody – Police
The Edo State Police Command has detained a 16-year-old girl, Aisha Suleiman, who allegedly killed her ex-boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel, and four other youths with a lethal dose of poison in Afasio community, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Emanuel’s father, Elogie Ezekiel, visited his son’s apartment on October 26, 2024, at approximately 6:30 AM.
Ezekiel found the body of a young man named Nurudeen in the corridor.
Further into the apartment, he found Emmanuel, 19, and his girlfriend, Ada Samuel, 16, lying on the bed in the bedroom.
Two of Emmanuel’s other friends, Samuel and Jeffrey Ayegwalo (both brothers), were also found unresponsive in the living room.
The five were immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead upon arrival.
The victims had just eaten pepper soup that Suleiman had prepared for his five friends, a source in the area noted.
Three days later, the investigation took a major turn when police received a report that Suleiman, who had allegedly poisoned the victims, was about to be lynched by a group of community youths.
State Police Public Relations Officer SP Moses Yamu told reporters on Friday that police officers from the Jattu division immediately rushed to the scene, intervened, and brought Suleiman safely to the station.
Yamu added, “The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.”
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Umoru Ozigi ordered a detailed investigation and instructed officers to pursue all possibilities to determine the true cause of death in the case.
He also warned against any form of mobbing and urged the community to allow the police to carry out their duties. CP Ojigi reassured the public that justice would be diligently pursued.
