David Olatunji Abioye and Thomas Aremu, who are Living Faith Church Bishops are set to retire this October. Both Abioye and Aremu are Vice Presidents of the popular Pentecostal Church founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.

Didactic Information Hut gathered that Bishop Thomas Aremu’s valedictory service will take place at LFC Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, 15th of October 2024 while that of Bishop David Abioye’s is scheduled to hold in Durumi, Abuja on Friday 18th October 2024.

It may interest you to note that Bishop Abioye who first met Bishop Oyedepo in 1979 was assigned to pastor one of the 5 five pioneer branches in 1987. Abioye was consecrated in 1993 in Garden of Faith, Barnawa, Kaduna at the age of 32 making him historically the youngest Bishop of a well-established church.

Similarly, Bishop Aremu who reportedly joined the ministry full-time after serving as an accountant in secular organizations is the only one among the 7 Bishops consecrated in November 1999 at Garden of Faith, Kaduna that have remained with the Church till date.

This retirement, Didactic Information Hut reports is in line with the revised Mandate of the Living Faith Church which reduced the retirement age from 60 to 58; except for the Founder who has the privilege of a lifetime of service after which every future leader of the Commission will serve for one term or a maximum of two terms of seven years each subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.
