Senator Ned Nwoko Dumps PDP, Defects To APC

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North senatorial district in the National Assembly is set to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Lawmaker was elected to the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election.
Senator Nwoko reportedly confirmed his decision to Premium Times.
By his defection, the APC now has all three senators in the state in its fold as He was the only Senator of the PDP in Delta State after the 2023 general elections.
Didactic Information Hut reports that Senator Nwoko has been having a lingering verbal crisis with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the governor’s godfather/predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
Senator Nwoko had accused the Governor of marginalising Him and his constituency and focusing attention on the interests of his godfather, Mr Okowa.
Interestingly, both former Governor Okowa and Senator Nwoko hail from Delta North and are expected to clash in the 2027 senatorial election in the district as Mr Okowa is said to be eyeing the Delta North senatorial seat, currently occupied by Mr Nwoko.
