Many Attendees at the maiden induction ceremony of the College of Medical Sciences of the Rivers State University were shocked as a former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, dedicated an award he received to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Didactic Information Hut reports that Amaechi was honoured with an Award of Appreciation for his contributions to the development of education in the university.
But in his acceptance speech, Amaechi dedicated the award to Wike for not abandoning the medical college during his reign.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that Amaechi had initiated the College project during his tenure as governor of the state, but could not complete it before the end of his tenure in 2015.
The Wike-led administration continued with the project until 2018 when the college matriculated its first set of medical students.
Wike and Amaechi have been at political loggerheads for a long time, a stained relationship that has continued to raise political tensions in Rivers State.
