The Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) has decided to hold local government elections in the state on November 16, 2024.
The new Chairman of the Commission, Bala Aliyu Gusau, who was sworn in today by state chief Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu represented by Mukhtar Yusha’u of the Zamfara State High Court at the council chamber of the Government House, Gusau, about the preparations for the conduct of the local council elections.
He also clarified that the sale and return of the Expressions of Interest will begin on October 25, and will last until November 1, 2024, when the commission will begin to prepare for the elections, which will be held at the same time as the elections in Gusau.
He said that the Commission is acting in accordance with Article 4 of the Law of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) and will keep the public informed of any other developments regarding the local council elections.
