Umaru Bago, the governor of Niger State, has presented the state with a draft budget estimate of N1.20 trillion for the fiscal year 2025.
Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy, made the announcement on his X page.
According to Ebbo, Mustapha Ndajiwo, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, disclosed the information in his presentation at the Niger State Executive Council meeting, which took place at Government House in Minna.
At its Executive Council meeting on November 26, 2024, the Niger State Government submitted a draft budget estimate of N1.20 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year for the Council’s approval.

There are two main allocations in the draft budget:
Recurring costs: 15.68%, or N188.42 billion
Investment in capital: N1.01 trillion (84.34%)
Ndajiwo revealed that, in comparison to the approved budget for 2024, the proposed budget represents a 32.94% increase.
He pointed out that even though N191.98 billion had been added to the 2024 budget, the draft 2025 budget shows a 32.98% increase in capital expenditures and a 1.18% increase in recurrent expenditures, indicating a strong emphasis on development and infrastructure.
