Achraf Hakimi who plays for Paris Saint-Germain has spoken out after He lost his bid to emerge as the African Player of the Year award.
Didactic Information Hut recalls that Ademola Lookman was named the 2024 African Best Player of the Year held in Marrakesh, Morocco, on Monday, defeating Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, and Ronwen Williams.
The victory for Lookman was a recognition for his exceptional contributions to the Nigerian national team and Atalanta.
But Hakimi has expressed dissatisfaction with the emergence of Lookman as widely reported in many Moroccan media outlets.
In a post match interview with Elias Ben Seghir in French, Hakimi said, “They (CAF) made me believe that I won it.”
Many Moroccan supporters had reportedly expected Hakimi to win after his Ligue 1 title triumph with PSG.
