A Cholera outbreak in Yola-North Local Government Council in Adamawa State has led to the death of four people with 36 others hospitalised.
This was revealed by the Executive Chairman of the Council, Mr. Jibrin Ibrahim, on Sunday while on a visit to the victims of the Cholera outbreak at the Infectious Disease Control Centre in Yola.
Didactic Information Hut gathered that the Cholera outbreak which occurred in Alkalawa, Ajiya, and Limawa wards, and is believed to be due to contaminated water sources and flooding.
Mr Ibrahim blamed the suspected cholera outbreak on contaminated water sources, exacerbated by flooding in some areas.
He advised the public to maintain a clean environment, drink potable water, and wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly before consumption as these steps will help to prevent further spread of the cholera disease.
