This surprising move is coming amidst protests from the PDP that the APC stole their mandate during the Governorship Election. And the Party as well as its governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, have vowed that they would not congratulate the governor-elect.

Didactic Information Hut recalls that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Asue Ighodalo with 291,667 votes as against 247,274 votes.

Agbebaku, who congratulated Senator Okpebholo at plenary on Wednesday said: “The governor-elect is for Edo people and not for the All Progressives Congress alone and I prayed that sycophants do not mislead him.”

Interesting to note that the Speaker, a member of PDP representing Owan West constituency at the State House of Assembly also lost his local government at the election to APC.

Meanwhile, the Speaker also announced the recall of the two remaining suspended lawmakers, Donald Okogbe and Adeh Isibor, after five months.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the assembly had, on May 6, suspended Donald Okogbe (PDP-Akoko-Edo II), Adeh Isibor (APC-Esan North-East I) and Bright Iyamu (Orhionmwon South) over an alleged plot to impeach the Speaker and other principal officers.
