Job Description:
Accountabilities
Contract Management: Responsible for reviewing existing contracts to identify upcoming renewals or amendments and negotiating contract terms with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
Ensure all contracts are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations, addressing any disputes or issues that arise and working towards resolutions.
Revenue Management: Analyze tariff structures to identify optimization opportunities and monitor revenue streams to pinpoint areas for improvement.
Market Analysis: Conduct daily market research to stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities, analyze market data to identify potential growth opportunities or threats, and provide regular reports and insights to senior management based on market analysis.
OPCo Relationship Management: Engage with OPCOs regularly to understand their needs and concerns, implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
Identifying Opportunities: Continuously scan the market to identify new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and emerging markets internally.
Financial Management: Review daily financial reports to track revenue, costs, and profitability, analyze variances to identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement, and provide input for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to commercial performance and implement mitigation strategies, conduct regular risk assessments, update risk registers, and communicate risk status to senior management with recommendations for appropriate actions.
Reporting: Prepare daily reports on commercial performance metrics such as revenue, expenses, and customer satisfaction, present reports to senior management and stakeholders during regular meetings and provide ad-hoc reports as requested by management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, economics, finance, engineering or a related field.
A master’s degree or MBA can be an added advantage.
Relevant certifications such as Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) may be beneficial.
At least 7-10 years of experience in commercial management, financial planning, or business development within the power or energy sector.
Proven experience in contract negotiation, project management, and stakeholder management.
Operation and maintenance Knowledge of generation and distribution process and practice.
