Rivers Crisis: You Wont’ Succeed With Many Bad Advisers Around You, Wike Taunt Fubara

Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has expressed doubts about the ability of his successor, Siminalayi Fubara, to succeed in his role as governor.
Speaking to a large assembly of his supporters on Saturday, Wike criticized Fubara for surrounding himself with individuals who do not have the best interests of the state at heart.
He pointed out that these were the same individuals who sought the position he ultimately awarded to Fubara, but he had rejected their ambitions.
Wike further ridiculed Fubara, referencing a Supreme Court decision that required him to resubmit the 2025 budget to the 27 lawmakers led by Martin Amaewhule and to conduct local government elections in the state.
“You [Fubara] have chosen to associate with those who aspired to be governor, whom I warned against, stating that they do not have Rivers State’s welfare in mind.
“They are the ones advising you. Do you truly believe you will achieve success?
“They will provide poor counsel, and the consequences of such advice are evident. You are already at a disadvantage, down 2-0, and there is more to come.”
