Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has instructed the newly elected local government chairpersons to refrain from entering local government council secretariats to prevent any potential disruption of law and order.

Adeleke emphasized the importance of adhering to the manifesto of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), highlighting his administration’s commitment to improving the state.

These directives were issued during the ceremony where the oath of allegiance and the oath of office were administered to the 30 local government chairpersons and their vice-chairpersons at the Osun State Government House on Sunday.

In his address to the newly sworn-in officials, Adeleke remarked that this event represents the culmination of the efforts of the state’s citizens.

He reflected on the progress made thus far, noting that this marks the final stage of a journey that began a year ago.

“I urge you to become agents of change, community developers, and providers of the dividends of democracy.

“We will not disappoint you. The welfare of the people will remain our primary focus,” Adeleke stated.

He expressed gratitude to the Osun electoral commission and commended the security agencies and state officials for their roles in ensuring the success of the electoral process.

Adeleke also thanked President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in maintaining order in Osun State.

“I assure Mr. President of my dedication to upholding the rule of law,” he affirmed.

Additionally, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde addressed the newly sworn-in local government officials, congratulating them and reminding them of the commitments made during their campaigns.

Earlier, Barrister Hashim Abioye, Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), presented Certificates of Return to the elected chairpersons.

The OSSIEC chairman congratulated the newly elected officials on their success and encouraged them to serve as exemplary representatives of democracy in both their conduct and service to the community.

On Saturday, OSSIEC announced the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the victors of the 332 councillorship positions and the 30 local government chairmanship seats.
