200L UNIBEN Student, Evans Godstime Dies From Kidney Cancer
A 200 level student of the University of Benin, identified as Miss Evans Godstime, is dead. Didactic Information Hut gathered that Miss Godstime of the Department of Accounting had been battling with advanced kidney cancer and complications from a major surgery.
To support her medical journey, family and students of the University of Benin had recently taken to social media to raise funds for her treatment. However, Godstime has reportedly succumbed to the ailment.
It could be recalled that in November, Godstime underwent surgery to remove her right kidney. But, the cancer progressed, and also infected the other kidney.
She was later referred from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for further treatment, where she reportedly died.
Until her demise, Miss Evans Godstime was the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students Association (NUASA), University of Benin chapter.
In a condolence message, NUASA described her as a “vibrant, dedicated, and passionate student leader who served with excellence and commitment.”
“Her contributions to NUASA and her university community will not be forgotten. Her sudden departure is a painful loss to us all,” the student body mourned.
